The Game Awards 2022’de ödüllere aday olan isimler muhakkak oldu. Yılın oyunu için adaylar büyük oranda iddia edildiği üzere oldu diyebiliriz. Genel itibariyle de mükafata en çok aday gösterilen oyunlara baktığımızda bir sürprizle karşılaşmıyoruz. En çok aday gösterilen oyun God of War: Ragnarök oldu, 10 adaylığı bulunuyor. Onu takip eden oyunlarsa 7’şer adaylıkla Elden Ring ve Horizon Forbidden West.
Yayıncılar tarafındaysa Sony, 20 adaylıkla dorukta. Nintendo ve Annapurna Interactive 11’şer adaylıkla onu izliyor. Sonrasındaysa 8 adaylıkla Bandai Namco geliyor.

Bu yıl birinci kez en düzgün adaptasyon/uyarlama kategorisinde de adaylıklar açıklandı. Oyun uyarlamalarının değerli bir tesir yarattığı bu devirde, bu türlü bir kategori oluşturulması çok da şaşırtan değil. Adaylıklarda bir diğer dikkat çeken ayrıntı da Ashly Burch; kendisinin son yıllarda sık sık bu listelerde yer aldığını görüyoruz. Bağımsız oyunlar için de hoş bir yıl olduğunu söyleyebiliriz, son yıllardaki gelenek devam ediyor, yeniden tezli oyunlar gördük bu sene. Yılın oyunu için de kıran kırana bir uğraş yaşanacak üzere görünüyor; bu da çok sürpriz değil, yıla başlarken beklenen tablo da üç aşağı beş üst buydu.
